In partnership with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and our many sponsors, Shoemaker Homes was excited to show them the same love and support they showed their community.
The Jones family has lived in their home for 13 years and for the past 5 years, Sabrena, an LPN, has been a single mom to her 3 children. Marjon, Mardaireus and Marjiya are the pride and joy of her life.Marjon, 18, attends Mississippi College on an academic/leadership scholarship where he plays football. Mardaireus, 17, is a senior in high school and is involved in football, track and basketball all while being the President of the Honor Society. Marjiya, 9, is in the fourth grade and loves cheerleading, dance and baton twirling. In 2001, Sabrena opened her own business, “Sabrena’s Medical Fashions & More”, which she now runs out of her living room.
In addition to being a nurse and running a business, Sabrena finds time to run a non-profit clothing donation center out of her home. Sabrena also volunteers regularly with as many charities as possible throughout the year, such as Toys for Tots, Stewpot, and Mission Mississippi. Sabrena gives love whenever possible and has taught her family how to handle themselves when dealing with adversity and hardships, as well as how to see good in every situation.
