Why Centricity? (Formerly Bonded Builders Home Warranty Group)
Shoemaker Homes provides a third party Centricity (formerly Bonded Builders Home Warranty Group) home warranty with the purchase of every home. The advantages of this are:
- no additional cost to you.
- a written warranty to illustrate what is covered.
- third party inspector for our foundation system and final landscape grades.
Centricity (BBWG) was founded in 1990 and serves homeowners nationwide through its various warranty programs and insurance. Centricity BBWG is responsible for the performance of the written warranty either directly or indirectly through the homebuilder. However, not every builder can become a member of the Centricity BBWG. Certain criteria must be met in order for a builder to offer this warranty to their customers.
These requirements include:
- thorough screening from the Centricity (BBWG) underwriting department.
- business longevity and financial stability of the company.
- references are reviewed in regards to customer satisfaction.
- rating of customer service and response time in which they return to complete punch list and other items in regards to servicing the customer.

As outlined in the warranty documents you received at closing, the warranty covers certain system defects. These defects include imperfections in materials or workmanship for a period of 1 Year and defects in the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems for 2 Years. As outlined in the warranty documents in regards to structural defects, the warranty period is up to 10 years. Structural Defects are considered physical damage to load-bearing portions of the home.

Although the use of quality materials and superior craftsmanship have been utilized in the construction of your new home, this doesn’t mean the home will not require care and maintenance from the beginning. Homeowner maintenance is essential for the lifetime of any home.
However, if a certain system or structural defects arises within the warranty period please submit a warranty request form. Once we receive a warranty service request a company representative will contact you to schedule an appointment. Warranty service appointments are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00 PM. After the inspection we will determine the appropriate action that needs to be taken. Please note that delays in the availability of access can postpone the time to complete the warranty service request. Emergency Warranty Requests
Shoemaker Homes trade partners can offer after hours emergency warranty service. If you have a request that is covered by your warranty and you believe to the best of your knowledge that it is an emergency, please visit our emergency request page. When you call the appropriate trade partner, please let them know that you are a Shoemaker Homes’ customer and you have an emergency warranty request. They will want to know your closing date in order to determine if your emergency is covered under warranty.
