3/13/2008 - Move That Bus

What an exciting day. The home is complete. The Usea family experienced what only a few people in the world have experienced. To be on the other side of the bus, yell the trademark call of Extreme Makeover Home Edition, "Move That Bus" and see their new home come alive right before their eyes.

What a wonderful day for the entire building community to celebrate the opportunity to once again to be a part of a life changing experience for the family receiving the new home and for all those participating in the build. The blessings of this event were truly enjoyed by all.

The trim work and interior painting are getting their finishing touches. All of the flooring is now complete. The once muddy yard is being turned into an oasis of shrubs, grass and a walkway designed with the use of pavers.

And the final touch.........furniture! Today the interior accessories were moved in and placed so the transformation of a house truly becomes a home.

3/8/2008 - Demolition & Foundation

Yesterday was an incredible day to be an American. Hundreds of volunteers met to encourage one another. Plans were finalized. Events took place. Final preperations were completed. The coalition team was ready to take on the challenge of building a home outside their specific comfort zone, however within the confides of the newly formed builder "Band of Brothers".

The community came together to storm the old house of the Usea family. And in it's place a warm, relaxing and comfortable home where lives are changed forever.

After demolition, excavation of the existing remnants of the house took place. Foundation prep work soon followed. The footings were dug late into the night and the foundation walls were raised early Sunday morning.
